Speech Recognition

Hello,

i'm interested in an design of an speech recognition system having the ability to differ among a maximum of 200 different words and be speaker independent.
The engine must not require to be trained before, meaning giving the words as text only.

So my question is, if its technically possible to an expert to design such a core with the todays technical possibilities and if you could qoute me any information, articles or anything else regarding this topic.

best regards
