Pure Aloha Question on the maximum normalized throughtput

I went through deriving the max value for normailized throughput (rho = G*exp(-2*G)) which is 1/(2*e) this occurs when G = .5 the question is, can this be achieved in practice? I don't see any reason why not, but not certain.
