Does PIC kit 2 can program 3.3V dsPIC33 ?
It is a large problem to check the list of supported chips on Microchip's site?

Who can check my PCB if there are any errors

I don`t now witch variant is good (for MC34063A):
Cin = 47uF or 100uF
Cout = 100uf or 220uF.

What is total power for ICD2 = more than 100mA / 5V ?
Thank you.

No, MC34063A is only to generate 13v to mclr.

Shouldn't someone (admin) create a dedicated section for PIC programmers? Browsing the 'microcontroller'-section for programmer stuff really is becoming a nuisance.

Does anyone know why this ICD2 have only one PIC? and it's USB...
check..

I want to build a ICD2, but this one is very interesting, and it's cheap.

I think it is PICKIT2 Board.

Yes, it's a PICKit2 clone with a PIC18F2550.

Hi,
I made a ICD2 PiCS Rev. B, but I'm having some problems...
The first time that I connected my ICD2 on my computer, the firmware was installed correctly, but in the MPLAB he doesn't connect well... see,

Auto-connect not enabled - Not connecting (Try enabling auto-connect on the ICD2 settings pages.)
Connecting to MPLAB ICD 2
...Connected
ICD0082: Failed MPLAB ICD 2 operation
Connecting to MPLAB ICD 2
...Connected
ICD0082: Failed MPLAB ICD 2 operation
ICD0286: Unable to communicate with ICD
MPLAB ICD 2 ready for next operation

What can be? I've checked twice my PCB, and it appers to be ok, all connection are right.
I think it is the firmware, I'm using the firmware that comes with the PiCS Rev.B, using a 10K resistor in MCRL in 18F4550. I need help guys! thanks....

Hi Hartfelder!

Did you try manually downloading the ICD2 operating system? (In Debugger window -> Download ICD2 Operating System).

Good luck.
Luca.

Hi lucafus,
I tried, but he start the downloading and never stops.
I'm using the MPLAB 8.14...

Added after 24 minutes:

Hey, I tried now and connected!
I need now program some PIC to verify if it's working!
thnks!

Yes, my ICD2 PiCS Rev. B works perfectly! I've should only put a 10k resistor in the 4550 in his MCLR.
Someone here has the PCB where the PIC will be wrote? DIL SOCKET... thanks!

Dear all,
first,sorry my english.

i build Potyo2-2006.12.07 icd2.

i can prgramming MCU

but,in debug mode,after programming 16f877(my target MCU)

step into,step over,animate all it's ok,no error.

but i press run bottom, then i see the ICD2 error and busy LED is blink

then,i press halt bottom, appear these information

Running Target
Halting Target
ICDWarn0054: MPLAB IDE has lost communications with the MPLAB ICD 2. Would you like to attempt to reconnect?
ICD0286: Unable to communicate with ICD
MPLAB ICD 2 Ready
Connecting to MPLAB ICD 2
...Connected
Setting Vdd source to MPLAB ICD 2
Target Device PIC16F877 found, revision = b8
...Reading ICD Product ID
Running ICD Self Test
...Passed
ICD0082: Failed MPLAB ICD 2 operation
...Halt Failed
MPLAB ICD 2 Ready

if i press step into, step over or animate buttom, then press reset bottom,

it's same the situation,icd2 will lost communications

what's wrong my icd2 ??

please help me,thanks.

Best Regards,
roddick.

Dear all,
i have a mistake

now the problem is slove

i use 74LS126 and 74LS125,but the 4066 is cd4066,not 74HC4066

maybe TTL IC can't driver CMOS IC,cause this problem

now i use 74HC126 and 74HC125

the potyo version icd2,it can entrance debug mode

Greetings,

i use 74LS126 and 74LS125,but the 4066 is cd4066,not 74HC4066

74LS126/125 will not work. Use 74HC. Also, CD4066 is actually a better choice because 74HC4066 is switching Vpp (13v) which exceeds the maximum voltage rating. CD4066 has higher voltage rating (but it is slower and draws more current). I think the 74HC4066 will work fine though.

Hi all.
I made a RS232 ICD. I used PIC16F876.
Which firmware should i use?
thanks
Here is schematic:

I'm using MPLAB 8.10. Still BL010101?
I got massage in mplab:

Connecting to MPLAB ICD 2
ICD0021: Unable to connect with MPLAB ICD 2
MPLAB ICD 2 Ready

I check the pcb. seems good
How can i test it without connecting a target pic?
thanx

yes. seri port based. jdm programmer. shuld i change configurations in icprog?
