hi every one

I need a good ebook to say howto I can measure IM3 for a cable and connectors connected to it.
I want it to be very informative and basic, not experiencing.

thank you

Cables and connectors are so linear that they do not produce any significant distortion. Especially compared to the distortion produced by active circuits.

Cables and connectors are linear. but because of mismatch the may produce inter modulation.
see "Passive intermodualtion distortion in conectors, cables, ...." from Amphenol corp.

thanks for your reply but if you see this link "http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CCUQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fcommunications.draka.com%2Fsites%2Feu%2FDatasheets%2F5501-06%2520RFF%252012%2520Jumper.pdf&ei=UWxyUOuqBIe90AGYxoHYDQ&usg=AFQjCNEI-ozShCGyKdterzHCsvPKNBInog&sig2=nlIpy7H2b3Vi8SCP9TH_Gg&cad=rja"
you will find that these passive equipment also have IM3

Hi. Cables and connectors can contribute to the "corona effect" in a subsystem resulting in ghost signals. If this is of general interest you can learn more in a white paper you can download for free here: https://www.santron.com

The co. may also be available to provide testing advice.

Good luck.

Dave
