how modulo 2 addition is done

Hi every one,
shall we use any digital circuit for modulo 2 power b addition , if it is possible plz, provide any information here.

In VHDL we can't use std_logic type in mod operator ?

or any algorithm or any adder circuit is available to perform thr modulo 2 power b addition, plz anyone who knows abt this issue reply me soon.
