Can a 555 chip make an accurate 5mhz square wave?

The answer is NO.
Use 5MHz crystal and a couple of gates, or 10MHz crystal and a couple of gates and :2 with D or JK flip-flop, or or or .. hundreds of options available ..

Because of Variable Ressistors and Change of the capacitor components used in the 555 Osc Circuit
varies with Temperture and Time So you Can't Use this Method.

These parameters also can effect the XTAL osc Circuits but their effects are Negliable.
Because We measure them in ppm (Part per million).
The Best Choice is XTAL Osc using Gates and Grounded Body.
