make a code library

Hi everybody!

I'm trying to make a stack for a specific protocol and I would like to place all my fuctions into a library.
From that point on an user application can use my low level functions from this library.

My target is a midrange PIC Mcu. Compiler is picc from Hitec.

My quesion is how to obtain this library? What is the mechanism?
Is it going to be compiler dependant?

Thanks a lot for your time!
