luminosity sensors interfacing

i am using luminosity sensors TSL2561 ....i am having lighting control system.....want to intrface through computer...serial port communication.....
user will enter data according to his requirement and will get that number of lumens in light.....can any body help me regarding this????

YOu need to interface in hardware and software. What tools can you use?

Communication to the device is accomplished through a standard, two-wire SMBus or I2C serial bus.

You need to read the Application note and understand the part.

Coding Yes. If you want the sensor with Voltage out, choose that.

I always use "Aardvark" to evaluate I2C deveice.

It's easy to comunicate with I2C deveice from PC.
