How do i use two optical sensors to switch the same switch.

Hi,

i need to switch a switch on when one optical sensor sees dark, and then switch it off again when a second sensor sees dark.

I couldn't find anything helpful on the net, but that's probably because i'm an electronics novice and probably not using the right language when searching.

Thanks,

It's called a 'flip-flop'. One sensor 'flips' it, the other 'flops' it and the output is the difference between the two.

Brian.

May be it won't require much power, probably switching no more than 7-10 watts with limits of 18V and 2A (my bench PSU max output).
