jvc camcorder will not eject tape
I have a JVE GR DVL 157 mini DV camcorder. Initial problem unreliable playback and record. Error message "use cleaning tape". I assume that the tape mechanisms of most JVC mini DV Camcorders are similar so any information for similar models very welcome. I downloaded the manual for the GR 540 series but this refers to another manual number 86700 for the "mechanism assembly"
But tape would not run and now Cassette will not eject. Error Message "E04" which I ve found (thanks to EDA post) means that the head drum is not running.
I have tried reoving and re connecting the battery but no improvement.
I have removed a side panel - can just see the head drum and do not think the tape has laced up.
All suggestions welcome
