Hi All,

I built as jdm programmer so I can program a 18f2550 to build the pickti2 when I try and program my 18f2550 in winpic it goes thru the programming phase the red led flashes etc but then at the end I get the following message ERROR:programming FAILED !

when I go into messages I see the following

Not too sure what this all means can someone help me?

The circuit I used was from the following web site https://electronics-diy.com/electronic_schematic.php?id=823

Can anyone help me is it the chip or the programmer that is stuffed.

Ok Guys,

I just went into devices under windows 7 and it shows hardware winpic800 but has the exclamation mark denoting no driver installed. Does anyone know where I can get the driver from for winpic800 and is there a windows 7 version or do I have to run winpic in xp or vista compatability mode?

I figured maybe Winpic800 would work hey worth a try right LOL.
thanks

Try IC-Prog software (it is easy to use) with this jdm programmer. And or see tutorial using vcc power supply.
Check the circuit and pins connections.
I have various of this programmer in smd working fine.

i suggest to try using the iscp connector direct to cip pins. it should work ok.

use any programmer software (recommanded winpicpgm) and if ur hardware is work then goto hardware>hardware selection/.....> and test each and every pin.
but if ur hardware is faulty then check connection.

While programming or verifying check VPP voltage if it is less than specified VPP voltage (I am a bit lazy to check Datasheet, but it helps a lot ) then may be its your serial port which is causing the problem, is it real serial port or usb -- serial converter?
