Is NB-IoT suitable for alarm detectors?

Wide coverage: NB-IoT signals have good penetration capabilities and can penetrate buildings and underground areas, providing wide coverage. This means that alarm signals can be reliably transmitted to the monitoring center even in remote or deep areas.

I think NB-IoT would work, I'm pretty sure it connects via cell towers so probably has a lot of coverage. The only issue I see is that I think it costs money for a data plan.
