build a stereo intercom

Hi,

I want to build an intercom using an amplified PC speaker system. Is it possible?

If yes, how and how long can be the cable

Regards,

Fernando

An amplified PC speaker system does not have a sensitive microphone preamp so it won't work as an intercom. If it did work then it would just squeal with acoustical feedback unless press-to-talk switches are used to mute the mic that is not used.

The length of the cable on an intercom is many km if it is designed properly like a telephone system.
