Pic 16f84a in assembly language

i want to know ...which
1. assembler i use or complier ( i use ASM51 in 8051 )
2 simulator

thanks

Go to the Microchip website and download the MPLAB IDE.
It is free and contains assembler, simulator, etc. pretty much all you need.

Can I ask you a question: what advantages do you see in moving from one to the other?
I just can't find any ..

IanP

Me too, I cannot see the advantage of PIC16F84A to an 8051 core micro.

Once you go ARM there is no turning back...
These all have stupid registers...
Surely microchip will go ARM in the future....

moving to PIC ...because ...of huge ammount of help, projects, code and lectures

Salam,

Search the forum for pic books, there you would find all what u need and you would find an answer for all your questions

I recomend Myke Predko book i think it's perfect

Good luck

Don't waste you time going to PIC16f84A.
Just go direct to PIC16F876 or PIC16F628.
They are similar to the old PIC16F84 and ofer you much more.
There is a lot of code for PIC16F876, this is the one I would propose you.
If you want to go even further go to the family 18F.
Don't waste time developping assembler code.
Go direct to CCS C compiler. Your productivity will increase by a factor of 5 to 10 once you dominate it well......
Of course, download and install MPLAB as well.
And good luck.

Dont use PIC, use AVR instead . They are cheaper , and 4 times faster.

i know there are many codes for PIC , but Trust me, dont waste time like me
just to find out that PICs are inferior , and then have to learn AVR again.

thanks.
