Hi,

I have a .s4p file for a balun. Is it possible to get S-Parameter plots from the file? Can somebody suggest the way to do it?

Thanks in advance,
Sreejith

You can use MatlLab or any commercial simulation program to plot those..

You can open the file with a simple text editor and see that all the data is just stored as plain text.

You can simply copy paste the data into Excel and obtain the plots using those columns which you require.

Otherwise, if you have ADS, then there is an option to directly import the .s4p into a 4-port S-parameter box (under column 'Data Items'), then simulate the extract the required results.

it is basicallay a text file with all information about S parameters,
ADS can be used to extract info

there are free programs out there, like QUCS, that you can use to read or plot the sparameter file. you could do some reference plane de-embedding in it too. There are probably other free programs around.

Of course, if you have expensive programs like microwave office or ads lying around, use those.
