how to interface photodiode with 8051 mocrocontroller?

pl help me with respect to amplifier ckt.

Google "transimpedance amplifier". This is a circuit that will convert the current output of the photodiode to a voltage that you can then mesaure with an A/D converter.

You may also want to investigate "light-to-frquency" converters. These convert the output of the photodiode to a digital output, whose frequency is dependent on the light level. This output can then drive a counter that you use to measure the frequency.

TAOS http://www.taosinc.com/ makes several products that may be of interest to you.

Hi sengar_vijay,
What about your bandwidth requirements?
Check these Apll. ideas...

Hi sengar_vijay,
Tnx! Newly you can buy photodiodes with eye characteristics & logical level outputs; their are "environment light" detectors...
What do you need really pls?
