How to design a 5mA lowpower transceiver,

it is operated in 2.4G, download datarate is 300kbps,

I can not decide to choose Zero IF or Low IF structure?

If your target is the power aware transceiver u can use one among the differents techniques used in low power design.

I will choose low if structure.

The target you have is really hard to get, unless you have very relaxed specifications.
What do you include in this current budget?

Some good info for you: in low data rate low power transceivers, 95% of RX architecture is LOW IF.

Some other info: new ultra low power designs use sub-threshold design techniques, (toumaz, zarlink).

Note also the architecture choosen by semtech. They do a receiver (in sub-1 GHz BW, if I well remember) with 3 mA.

the transceiver is half duplex, 5mA should cover the 300kbps download or 1Mbps upload.

Here the image problem could be ignored.

So i think i will choose FSK low IF and one mixer structure to minimize power.
