AA,
How to connect the Bit RA4 in port A in 16f84A in order to use it as a data i/o pin?
As I understand from the data sheet, when it is programmed as o/p & the bit no 4 in port A is 0, it is connected to ground. when it is one it is floating? I want to use it as o/p pin & toggle the o/p .
Regards,
Amr Ali.

use a pullup resistor

AA,
My supply is 6V, what value for the pull up resistor should I use?

Amr Ali

it will depend on the load you are trying to drive

why you are using 6v power supply?

AA,
I connect to the pic chip 5v through a regulator. For that o/p I want it to be 6v when high & 0 when low.

use 4.7K resistors, be aware output is inverted.

AA,
I will try it, but how do u calculate this value?
