How can I cease the auto creation of *.Bkp In Protel99SE?

In Protel 99 SE, everytime I open a DDB file then close it, even not opening a internal SCH or PCB. There will automatically appear a *.Bkp file which has a same file name with the DDB file in the same directory with DDB file.
I have unchecked the item "Create Backup Files" in the system preferences dialog.
How?
