help on internet connection

hey guys i want ur help...
i got problem with internet. when i connect my computer to the internet , my computer is registered on the internet but page is not opened,..n messenger too. is my modem alright? this problem is shown even after i format my computer.

there are softwares that tell u watz the problem...DNS entry problems , Server unreachable problems , proxy server problems are the main ones..

just check it out...

Do you get any error messages? Try check your proxy settings and IP address, including DNS server. At command prompt, try type "tracert www.yahoo.com". Check also your internet connection, is it working if you use other computers?

try this
start-run
then type"ping <ip address>"
you must see "reply from<ip address> bytes sent: time: "---> perfect
else if you see " no reply" problem with the connection
have u setup the networkk wizard? if yes
then change ur modem
