I think it must be abbreviation and stands for "Common Drain".
 

DC stands for: Direct Current ..
In DC applications, if you use output 5, the Ron resistance will be lower .. see data sheet - electrical characteristics - output ..

What is the purpose of connecting to both end label as 'S',
if the middle pin is of lower Ron?

Weren't it better to connect between DC & S in this case?
