I can suggest, don’t start make any project without lot of explanations, and some feedback from customers about it.
When I was make JDM programmer I wasn’t find any information about XP drivers needed for it, and couple of my Pic microcontrollers become useless.
Also, after lot of troubles I find that there is a different RS232 cables.
So be careful, parallel port is probably better solution for simple programmers.
