Ferrite core transformer design

Hi,

Input for the transformer

Input:220Volt
Frequency:50hz
Switching Frequency:20Khz
Efficiency 80%

Output:
60volts and 5A

Plz anybody help to design the transformer

Goto the EPCOS site and download their Magnetics Design Tool (MDT).
The software only supports EPCOS cores but most manufacturers make similar cores and materials.
 

we can design the inductor/transformer.

Basic core design require your frequency, relative permiability and you got area product. Then select the core with that area product. (Ref: Fairchild Application Note 4140 at www.fairchildsemi.com).

However a basic crude table followed by the designers and here is that. They all consider the operating frequency at 50-150KHz.

0-10Watt ==> EE8,EE10,EE13,EE16,EPC10,EPC17 etc
10-20Watt ==>EE19,EPC19
20-30 Watt==> EE22,EPC25, EER25.5
30-50 Watt==> EE25,EPC30, EER28
50-70 Watt ==>EE30,EER28L
70-100 Watt==>EE35,EER35
100-150Watt==>EE40,EER40,EER42
150-200Watt==>EE50,EE60,EER49
200-400 Watt==>EER50,EER53,EER54

For, LLC Half bridge converter, you may check AN2450 of the same site. As your frequency is low, you get Large area product. Then adjust Air Gap, Measure Inductance and then Capacitance. Hope you can get something from this.

I also need some technical information to design my own transformer. i/p:10-14V & o/p: 300-380V. (Push-pull), I've bought EI-50,EE34 & 39 . what turns and wire should be used here?? Can you provide me any books/papers on it?

I think you got the table wrong.
There's no way that can be right. The old inverter in my house had 2 EE35's running to supply 500W. The 230W standard ATX power supplies mostly use EI33. My 400W PC power supply uses an ERL35. According to **broken link removed**, ETD39 should be able to handle 350W. And I've easily had it run 250W.

Can I see the source of the information you posted?
I think you got the table wrong.

According to Switchmode Power Supply For Car Audio, ETD39 should be able to handle 350W. And I've easily had it run 250W.
 

My 400W PC power supply uses an ERL35.
And I guess, it's not running faster than 30, maximum 50 kHz. So at 100 kHz you can achieve even higher power.

You can also refer to the Epcos Ferrite design tool, that gives about 400 W for EER35 with a 25 kHz push-pull topology.
