Earthing problem in a 8 channel switching via power line project

Hi to all
Now I am facing a new problem and very extraordinary
I have just completed my new project..
It is very interesting “ 8 channel switching via power line”
It works on the principle of DTMF tones
The project is completed
The output tone is mixed with neutral and the ground with earth
.
In testing mode I have connected the output of control circuit to switching directly
It works perfectly
But when I connected it with power line the problem begins
It not worked
After tracing I found that when I disconnect the earth line and connect both circuit ground wires directly it works perfectly but after connecting ground it doesn’t works.
The working of circuit is mainly control the switch remotely via poer linebut without eart it couldn’t get ground and after connecting earth it doesn’t works
Why this happened
Kindly give suggestion

Neutral and earth are connected together in some countries.

ok this could be the problem
but is this only reason for the not working of the circuit
