dsp in power line communication

hi,

I would like to know how exactly data is extracted from a power line. I know that FFT techniques are used. How can we feed an AC signal to a DSP processor???:shock:

Please do reply as early as possible.....

AC in the sense 230V,10A kind of signal.....
