RS232
-Unbalanced / non-differential (all same terms)
- point to point
-No. of Drivers = 1
-No.of receivers =1
-full duplex (so it can be half duplex also)
-Distance (Standard) = 15m
- receiver input sensitivity( a valid signal) = +-3V
- Max speed at 12m = 20kbps
You can have more than 32 receivers on an RS-485 bus if you use higher impedance transciever chips. For example, we use 1/10th load chips in our devices such as this IO module: I-7050 https://www.icpdas-usa.com/products.php?PID=137 . This lets you have up to 256 devices on an RS-485 bus.
