DGS filter takes hours to simulate

Hi All,
I have designed a simple DGS (Defected ground structure) band pass filer for 1.5-2 Ghz.
I tried to simulate in HFSS and MWO.
It took hours for only 5 frequency steps on both SW while a hairpin filter takes just seconds.
Does anyone know why is that so?
Thanks you...

If you have a solid ground plane, you can include it as a boundary condition.
If you need to mesh the ground plane, because it has holes, you have more unknowns = more complex problem.

See if you can attach your design.
I may try to see it and simulate it. (HFSS only)

Try to set the coarse grid for the em simulations in AWR MWO-EMSight as it uses rectangular mesh...
If you have AXIEM option, try using it as it is faster than EMSight...

If you still have issues, upload MWO file (*.emp) here...
