design microstrip antenn using agilent ADS!!!

hi guys

i have final project about smart antenna with butler
first i should design diffrent microstrip anttenna to get the better results
the design do by ADS
but the proble i am beginner in ads
i dont how to draw exact dimension in layout

so can any body help me how to set the dimension the antenna in layout
as example how to draw patch antenna w 2.3 mm and L 3.6 mm , these dimension i dont knowe how to set

Just use the "Microstip lines" in the schematic editor and when you
get what you want, send it to "layout" then simulate it . Adjust as needed.

Follow below mentioned steps to design a Microstrip Patch Antenna
1) You need to create a rectangle in Layout with width =2.3 and Length = 3.6,
2) Now create a substrate according to your Antenna design.
3) Now design a feed line with 50 ohm impedance(use line calc to calculate the width of the 50 ohm impedance microstrip line)
4) Now you need to design a pi/4 length of impedance transformer which will be between your feed line and patch. This will be your Antenna.

Now you need to create a butler matrix, you can refer various research papers for this design.
For creating butler matrix you can use schematic view to easy create hybrid couplers and cross overs.

Wait for ADS2012, there is a example called Smart_Antenna in MultiTech_Module folder, it is exactly what you need(Adaptive Array triggered by SPQT)
