Hi all,

Is it usual for the vdd current in digital circuits consisting around 9000 transistors to require around 150mA.

The library cells seem to have large transistor dimensions which i think is for high speed operation and high drive strength. Would it then be possible for the current requirements to go up to as high as 200mA.

Does anyone know of common current amounts in large digital circuits ?

Thanks.

You could use a Synopsis tool named PrimePower to perform a current consumption estimate for your circuit (if your library is well characterized). See the Primepower manual to further infos...

with frequecy increasing, current of circuit maybe over 200mA.

Would you please tell us what's your
1. function?
2. technology? (Process, foundry...)
3. Working frequency?
4. Lib information..

The range from tens of mA to few A.
