Conventional I/Q demodulation and digital I/Q demodulation

Hi Pals,
Why conventional analog I/Q demodulation is still so popular? (Need two ADC)
Applying digital I/Q demodulation can save one ADC.

Is this not a strong reason to adopt to digital I/Q demodulation?
Hope someone can help me to solve the above questions.
