Can somebody give me some advice about ESD simulation?

I want to use Hspice to simulate ESD,but i don't know how to make an equivalent circuit model of ESD,can somebody give me some advice to do this, and does my ideal wrong, any other EDA soft can I use?

Hi, you can find an equivalent generator model for ESD on ETSI rules (CE mark).
You can try to found ETSI EN 61000-4-5 (or EN 1000-4-5 that's older, but is alreday the same paper) on ESD protection or ETSI EN 300-386 to view all normatives on CE marking.

I hope it will help you.

Angelo.

Hspice can't simulate ESD. You can use TCAD (process simulation tool)
to simulate ESD device.

Hi .

Hspice can simulate only the Non breakdown type of Devices/clamp.
You can simulate the responce of RC Mosfet Clamps and diodes.

This is sample model for HBM 2kV Zap in Hspice.

SUBCKT HBM NEG POS
RR1 NET20 POS 1.5K
LL4 NET20 NET5 7.5u
CC5 POS NEG 10p IC=0
CC4 NET20 POS 1p IC=0
CC0 NET5 NEG 100p IC=2K
.ENDS HBM

Hope this helps..

Firstly, the Hspice model can't describe ESD behave.
Second, you can only simulate before ESD broken.
The best way to design good ESD is understand character of transistor.
