Ask a question.

Can I use the floorplan file to determine the pin location ?
In my design I want to write a file to decide my some pin location.
Then other pins do pin optimization by preview.
So I think that I can use the floorplan file.
Can I do it ?

Thanx.

Why not your UCf file for this (if you are using Xilinx)?

Re: Can I use the floorplan file to determine the pin locati

You can either use the UCF file or you can very well see the pin position for urself in the floorplanner window and then manually pull them according to minimum flyline congestion. Remember to see that you are not putting them so close to some specific corner also.

ANd you can do this only in the Floorplanner window before finalising the P&R.

you may use the place tool or plus the define in your UCF
