Can I use Relays

hi, I am doing a project in which it is intended to design a backup power unit suitable for maintaining power for a small motor. If line power is loss it switches to battery powered inverter within less than 0.1 sec. The inverter output must be fully synchrionised to the line, so that there is limited inrush current when the switching takes place.the unit should wait atleast 20sec. I have got the querry that can I use A relay for controlling the time delays.

Thanks in Advance for any help or suggestions You can give to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can I use Relays

If the invertor must be synchronized with the line, it must be all the time turned on due to synchronization.
I would not recomand relay since it will bring some inrush.

Re: Can I use Relays

In my opinion, I wouldn't suggest you use relay, maybe you can search "on-line UPS" in google for your question.

Maybe there will have the better methods for your question...

Hope it can help you...
