Can I open project done in ISE 7.1 on ISE 8.1?

i want to open with ise 7.1 a project developed in vhdl with ise 8.1
It s possible ?

My opinion, we should upgrade ISE8.1. After that just open the old project, and fix the old project, if it requires.

Yes u can just open it and the ISE 8.1 will tell u that he will make another file at the extension .ise and will left ur original file as it.
