Calculations For Halo Width For Block Macro & Number Of Power Straps Required

Hi,

I tried google but couldn't get anywhere. Can you please explain how to calculate the width of the halo required while placing macro during floorplan and total number of power straps required during power planning along with mathematical equations if possible?

1- how much you estimate the macro will consume.
2- what's the resistance of your metal.
3- which IR drop is acceptable.

with that you should be able to estimate the size / number of your power straps, usually the memory providers indicates how to calculate.
