Assume that a voice channel occupies a bandwidth of 4 kHz. We need to multiplex 10 voices channels with guard bands of 500 Hz using FDM. Calculate the required bandwidth.

Can anyone help me with this?

10 channels of 4KHz = 40KHz
9 guard bands between them of 0.5KHz = 4.5KHz
Total = 40 + 4.5 = 44.5KHz

Brian.
