I want know if Virtuoso Tool is included in Cadence IC Design 5.0 Package ?

I install the IC5032 on the redhat 7.3
it is working properly.
run icfb on X-term.
I import gds file after creating the library.
and open the layout file using Virtuoso.
but it is error message like this.
" layout editor capability is not enabled."
layout file is opened in the read-only mode.
what is problem ? how to solve this problem?

Another Questions, for create a complete project IC, you can just use Cadence IC Design 5.0 or you need other software ???

Can you create a new layout file with your program? The error message seems to show the missing of license. Do you already check it carefully?

I think what you have found would be PSD or LDV packages. PSD contains PSPICE which can be use for circuit simulation, but its layout tool is for PCB design. LDV is for digital circuit simulation and synthesis, can not do physical layout either.

like Amuro i think it is a license problem. i had the same problem with schematic composer (when i opened a schematic, all buttons to edit where not usable).

Use "configure" script in $<CDSDIR>/share/license and follow its guide. You will need root password in order to add start script of the license daemon.

I have some problem yet.
in the case of rogin with root Account, ICFB works fine.
I can edit schematic in composer and layout in virtuoso.
but, in the case of rogin with local Account( user Account), ICFB doesnot work properly.
I can't edit schematic and layout, and only can open it with read only mode.
Can you tell me how to solve this problem.?
