What does it mean by boundary here? does Boundary refer to the depletion layer?

PDFtoJPG.me-033.jpg

The edge of the depletion region (free minority carriers are
swept by the field, to the edges where there exist free
opposite-species carriers to recombine with; there are by
definition no (static) majority carriers within the depletion
region).
