best graphic LCD controller ???

hi

I have a question regarding interfacing graphic LCD ,and I would be thankful if someone could answer me

what is better for graphic LCD ....

should I use basic microcontrollers like ( PIC or AVR ) ???
or I should use one of these popular controllers : Toshiba T6963 , SED1330 , Hitachi HD61202 ??

mentioning that the graphic LCD controller will be connected to another microcontroller ( not a computer !) .


Moreover, I searched a lot for a step-by-step tutorial for graphic LCD , but I couldn't find. All what I find is character LCDs tutorial and I wonder if they are similar to program or not !

i have used graphic LCD with controller T6963. I have interfaced it with 89c51. i used t6963's manual to learn Graphic LCD.
try n read that manual. its very easy to use n very interesting too.there is no step by step manual for this. u have to follow t6963's manual.

using T6963 looks easy
but I wonder how can i interface this T6963 to a PIC

In fact, I'm a beginner in microcontrollers and I don't know if I would face a difficulity going this way ?

I mean that the T6963 will be connected directly to PIC and that will be PIC 16F877

give me a minute to explain the idea

the PICF877 will act as the (head) controller that
controllers different devices through thier controllers

so the PICf877 will controller that T6963
could that be done ?? or I'm just imagining :s?
