hi you all,

i was woundering,
if i am using an I2C bus of 400khz speed does it meens that i am transfaring data in 25kbps??
coz,
if i anderstand rigth transfaring at the clk rate of 400khz per bit,
but i have to sent the 7 bit adress +1 bit rd/wr and then i get my 8 bit data so in order to recvie 8 bit data i had to transfer 16 bit meenig that i am actuly working in 400/16= 25Kbps .

what can you say about that???
am i rigth ??
thank's up in advence.
iftah.
:)

Your second thought considerations are pretty close to the real throughput of data: 10-20kbps .. as you need to send address and all that bullsh... to receive one pure data byte ..

hi,

ya you rigth there's allso the START bit STOP bit and ACK.
and anyway,
so if that's true, there is no posible way of transfaring an audio chanel of 64kbps
from the cpu to the codec in time.
rigth.........oh oh(i think i know what's wrong in my design).

but never the less i have so quit a lot of design that are using I2C from codec to a micro isnt that so??

thank's any way,
iftah
