Assorted Resistor and Capacitor

Anyone could suggest which resistor and capacitor value that used most in home-brew project? Those project basically deal with LED and PIC. I want to buy them in bulk, but I do not know how to assort them. I wish to buy like 50 resistors and 50 capacitors. Looking forward for your help.:wink:

caps: 100nF, 10uF ..

Most of the major suppliers have assortments available. This 70 value assortment of ¼W 5% carbon film resistors is only $10.00: https://www.jameco.com/Jameco/catalogs/c103/P52.pdf and you can see there's lots of options for capacitors as well: Jameco Electronics - Electronic Components Distributor. That's just from one supplier I looked at.

I use 220 R very often as protection against currents larger than 25 mA for PIC's I/O pins
