for learning fondation of digital communication systems the book by proakis and salehi is the best. but in analoge communication the book by carlson is more practical.

the book of Lathi is pretty easy and informative

Well I find the book by carlson quite enjoyable to read . But I ve also heard about Lathi's book.

Lathi is the best book for Analog communication system and the Taub schilling is the best book for digital communication system.

Go for Simon Haykins... Its a good book for communication(Both Analog and Digital!).. Lathi is also good.. Sklar is good book for Digital comm..
