I bought a 3 1/2 Digit LCD Display but no part no. has been mentioned on it and the shopkeeper also refuses to tell.. I wanted to know whether all the 3 1/2 digit lcd display have the same interfacing and pin diagram and if yes..could somebody send that to me.. also the electrical spec... It would be of great help.

Thanks

hi

i think you are located in india, where people faces such problems
you will not get any datasheet, part number etc.
i think almost all the 3 1/2 displays are the same
and to interface you need to mention to which controller you are going to interface
there's another option, there are ic's available in the market which you can directly connect to the display and inbuilt adc.but these ic's had limited functionality
previously people use this way to display different analog values.
check ICL7106

Thanks for such an early reply.. Yes you are right I am from India only..
I am going to use either pic16f913 or atmega329 as the lcd controller.. Also I found a one page datasheet of a 3 1/2 lcd display from lumex company so would the pin diagram of my lcd would be the same as that of this lcd. I am attaching its datasheet.

hi

try to interface the lcd according to the pin connections on the diagram
they are all common like all the alphanumeric lcd's got the same pins

go ahead

for the 3 1/2 digit lcd displays ,
the pin numbers are same for all types of same 3 1/2 digit.

they are same for the digits and power supply.

the only difference is : like 'lo batt' , and other lcd specific maessages.

but for digits alone you can use standard pin config.

if you slightly turn and see the lcd in reflected light ,
(without any power -just keep the bare lcd in hand in a well lit place)
you can see other non standard letters if any.

based on that you can search net for specific pin numbers.
