Hmm... I've been thinking about the same problem. I've also got a high-speed spindle from an old LPKF, made by Alfred Jäger (a German company). It would be fine if I only can find new hi-speed bearings for it...

At least the 60k rpm spindle uses a rather low voltage, if my memory serves.
