When you downlaod the programmer, there is a link in the about small window that send you directly to the forum, or you can look to the hardware profiles, for which sisco b. f. had put a site to refrece to.

Just search the forum for ICD2.
There are few clones available.
Just build one and you will be capable to program almost all micrchip pics and also to debug the code in system.
Don't waste your time. This is the best one.

Visit Microchip website and search for PICKit2 and download the user guide. There is a schematic of PICKit2 ICSP programmer. You may want to build or purchase it.

This is the programmer board I make & the software I used is PICPgm Programmer for Windows, version 0.8.6.1 which is provided at **broken link removed**
But after i constructed the circuit & installed the software it can't detect my PIC.
Any pro or genius can give me a hand??
Does "DB9 serial programmer" means programming mcu with just one pin of if to transfer programme date into mcu?
Is it same way by which a programme can be debug?
some newer computers don't have enough voltage at the serial port to run tht style of programmer.try reading up on problems with the JDM programmer and you should be able to maybe find a fix

After googling for few hours, I learned that ICSP (or ICD2) is some kind of circuit that enable PIC to communicate with Serial port. But I cant find any schematic for this ICSP. Can anyone help me, please.... A schematic diagram would do. Thanks in advance guys....

ICSP- In Circuit Serial Programming
ICSP is a a programming method used for programming PIC microcontrollers using hte following microcontroller pins: PGD, PGC, MCLR, VDD, Vss=GND.
So ICSP is a method of programming and NOT the programmer. To program your PIC18F4550 with bootloader you will need any of many PIC programmer that support PIC18F4550.
bootloader is a smalll programm whitch runs on your PIC18F4550 and once it's programmed in PIC18F4550 you won't need external programmer no more, since bootloader will program the device from USB.
