Hi,
I need to build a charger for mobile phone which at one time can charge not less than five phone, can anyone show me a way how to design this project.

The way to go is to utalize 1 transformer + rectifier + smoothing capacitor(s) and to build 5-channel (or as m any as you need) independent voltage regulators. You can use LM317 ( **broken link removed** ) voltage regulator IC, and you can allow for some DIP switches and resistor deviders if you would like to change output voltages .. Nokia, for example, requires 4.2V ..

IanP

Another question by using LM317 will the current output be equal in all the channel for example if i used all the channel the current for all channel is 500ma and if i use only one channel the output current is same (500ma), if no can you tell me how to solve it.

The current will not be the same in all branches, because each battery draws a certain current. For example, my samsung mobile needs 5V. and 130mA, while a siemens phone needs 6V and 300mA.

Only be sure that the LM317 maximum current is more than those.

The idea behind using voltage regulators is based on a fact that the currents drawn by channels will not be equal. The 317 voltage regulator can deliver up to 1.5A before its internal current limit will become active, so your transformer+recifier+smoothing caps shoud be rated for something like -channel number * 1.5A-.
Also, don't forget about heatsinks for these gizmos, 317 that is..
Regards,
IanP

Thanks guys will build it rightaway
