Hi,

I have planned to use serial to parallel converter (74HC595). Am looking to drive multiple 595 Ic's up to long distance. kindly suggest me any IC's to support for this application

What is long distance for you? You can e.g. translate the SPI signals to RS-422 differential signals, transmitted through twisted pair cables.

1) Define long distance. is it 2 m, 10 m, 100 m?

2) Define your transmission speed

3) How noisy is your environment?

But most likely you will end up with a differential signal, like FvM mentions.
I've seen applications where people have used CAN transceivers (only the physical layer) for that same purpose.

Hi,

Can you brief your desired application, i done similar kind of project in past experience.

Then we will look forward for it.

Thanks to all for your reply, Its approximately 3 Meters between Master and the Slave unit .It's a simple application driving input and output, Slave unit contains 74hc165 and 74hc595 i need to drive this both IC's. Clock frequency is 400Khz, Working environment should have some industrial noise.

You can easily use either RS-232 or RS-422 drivers and receivers.
