Hi I have a burnt KDS120 diode in series with a charger that charges a battery. The device that is charged draws about 400mA at 6v, and this passes through the diode.

Please recomment me suitable replacements as I cannot find the same diode on ebay. They have to be pin and power compatible (used for DC 6v)
Can the BAW56 be used? (I have one available)

The BAW56 is much slower than the original. If switching speed is not a factor, you can use it. Even a common 1N914 should do the job.

the baw56 did the trick, although it is a little bigger package so I had to wire it up instead of solder it on the pcb. but it worked ok.
this just passes dc so speed is not a factor

According to this pdf both diodes are 4nS. The only spec i see that does not match is the surge rating, the KDS120 claiming a whopping 2A at 10mS, BAW56 is rated at 1 sec for .5 A.
