If your SIM300 has TTL (5V type) pins for Rx and Tx then cross connect that is

SIM300 Tx > PIC Rx
SIM300 Rx > PIC Tx
SIM300 GND to PIC GND

(PIC should be 5V type).

If your SIM300 doesn't have TTL UART pins but have RS232 port (DB9 connector) then put a MAX232 between PIC and DB9 connector of SIM300.

If you need any help in coding then mention it.
