Protel2004 - Update PCB

To all:

I'm trying to use DXP2004 (or is it Protel 2004) evaluation.

My PCB already has footprints with designators that correspond to the schematic. However, the updates wants to remove some components but not others. What is the difference. I want the components that are already on the PCB to be unaffected by the update. What is going on ?? Can someone help ?? Is there some property of the component that must be invoked ??

Any help is appreciated.

Re: Protel2004 - Update PCB

The components on your board have to match exactly with the schematic components - name, pin numbers, pin names, etc. If they don't, you will get the warning list that you are talking about. It allows you to choose what action you want to take - the software will also ask you if you want to manually try to match the components, skip the update, etc. This last step is where you get to tell the software which footprints you want to match from the schematic to the PCB. There are also checkboxes that you can uncheck if you don't want the action specified on the list of warnings (ie - remove, update, add, etc).

Re: Protel2004 - Update PCB

I have also DXP and me to past the same thing.

What I have done is to record the SCH in a new file and to do it in another plate.

To my even not me to place some resistances and everything was ok.
